TP Takes the Belt — Fall Brawl 2026 Is in the Books

Your 2026 Fall Brawl Champion: Torrie Perry.

Fellas, it's done. Five weeks, 18 brawlers, one belt. Saturday at Comanche Trace, #3 Torrie Perry closed out #8 Rodney "Hot Rod" Tramble 4 & 3 to win the 2026 Fall Brawl Championship. The 2024 Player of the Year against the 2025 Player of the Year, and the belt is going home with TP.

The Podium

  • 1st — Torrie PerryChampion
  • 2nd — Rodney "Hot Rod" TrambleRunner-up
  • 3rd — Bill Walbert3rd Place

Championship Result — October 17 · Comanche Trace

  • #3 Torrie Perry def. #8 Rodney "Hot Rod" Tramble4 & 3

Congratulations, TP. Four matches to the belt: past DK, then Jason Stacy 3 & 2, Bill Walbert 3 & 1, and Hot Rod 4 & 3. Not one of those matches reached the 18th hole. TP posted an 80 on championship day and closed it out on 15.

Hot Rod, much respect. The defending Player of the Year came in as the #8 seed and went through John Alvarez, top-seeded Andre Dean, and Chris Robson to get to the final. That's a championship run, and nobody in this club thinks he's done.

Bill Walbert, 3rd Place. Bill was the most consistent ball-striker in the whole tournament: low gross at Hidden Falls (72), tied for low gross at Flying L (76), a 76 at Pleasanton, and low gross again Saturday with a 76. He'll be on everybody's radar next fall.

Around the Comanche field, Bill Walbert took low gross outright with a 76 (+4), Dave Poff was next at 78, TP carded an 80, and Durwin Kerr an 84. Thank you to everybody who played in the Brawl, everybody who came out Saturday, and Comanche Trace for taking care of G3C like they always do.

Fall Brawl 2027 — Come Get It

The belt has a home, but it's only on loan. TP has a target on his back. Hot Rod wants his shot back. Bill is knocking on the door, and every one of the 15 brawlers who went home early has a year to get ready. Use the 2027 season to sharpen your game, keep showing up on Saturdays, and be ready when the bracket drops next fall.

2026 belongs to TP. 2027 is wide open. Who's coming to take it?

Semifinals — The Championship Is Set (Pleasanton CC, Oct 10)

Fellas, four walked into Pleasanton and two walked out with a ticket to Comanche Trace. The Semifinals are in the books, and the Championship match writes itself: the last two Players of the Year, head to head, for the Fall Brawl belt.

Semifinal Results — October 10 · Pleasanton CC

  • Torrie Perry def. Bill Walbert3 & 1
  • Rodney "Hot Rod" Tramble def. Chris Robson4 & 3

SF2 was a heavyweight fight. Bill Walbert shot 76, tied for second-best gross in the whole field, and still came up short. #3 Torrie Perry posted a 77 and closed it out on 17. When a +1 handicap is giving strokes, there's no room to breathe, and Bill has now been at or near the top of the gross leaderboard every week of this tournament. Respect.

SF1 belonged to the defending Player of the Year. #8 Hot Rod went 78 and closed out #13 Chris Robson 4 & 3 on the 15th hole. Robson's Cinderella run is over, but knocking off TB and Craig Stanley to reach the Final Four is nothing to be ashamed of.

Around the field: Pablo "Jeff" Gonzales took low gross with a 75 (+3). Kaleth Wright and Bill Walbert tied for second at 76, and Mark Tross and Torrie Perry were right behind at 77.

Quarterfinals — Final Four Is Set (Flying L, Oct 3)

Fellas, the talking is over and the golf has started. Flying L is in the books, the Quarterfinals are complete, and we're down to four. Some of y'all backed it up. Some of y'all are heading back to the GroupMe with excuses.

Quarterfinal Results — October 3 · Flying L

  • Rodney "Hot Rod" Tramble def. Andre Dean3 & 2
  • Chris Robson def. Craig Stanley3 & 2
  • Bill Walbert def. Jason Cataract19 holes
  • Torrie Perry def. Jason Stacy3 & 2

Remember when we said the No. 1 seed can get knocked off? Hot Rod took down top-seeded Andre Dean 3 & 2. Three of the four matches ended 3 & 2, so those winners were in control early. Bill Walbert and Jason Cataract couldn't settle it in 18 and needed a 19th hole before Bill finally closed it out. That's match play at its finest.

Look at the seeds left standing. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds are both gone. #3 Torrie Perry is now the top seed remaining, #8 Hot Rod is the defending Player of the Year, #10 Bill Walbert posted the low gross at Hidden Falls (even-par 72) and tied for low gross again at Flying L, and #13 Chris Robson is the Cinderella. He has knocked off #4 TB and #12 Craig Stanley to get here. Like we said from day one: 80% of your current GHIN, and anybody can beat anybody.

Flying L Gross Scores

Hot Rod and Bill Walbert shared low gross for the whole field at 76 (+4), and both are still alive. Here's how the quarterfinalists scored:

  • Rodney "Hot Rod" Tramble · Bill Walbert76 · 76
  • Torrie Perry82
  • Andre Dean88
  • Jason Cataract89
  • Jason Stacy93
  • Chris Robson · Craig Stanley96 · 97

Proof that this is net match play: Jason Cataract shot 89 against Bill's 76 and still took him to a 19th hole, and Robson advanced with a 96. Play your game with your strokes and you can beat anybody.

About the club

Gang Green is more than a golf group. We're a golf group with a purpose.

G3C San Antonio was built primarily by retired and active-duty military veterans, and the game is the vehicle — not the mission. Every Saturday round, every trip, and every tournament feeds something bigger: mentorship and fellowship among members, scholarships for local students, and support for San Antonio charities through events like the G3C Charity Classic. We compete hard, we show up for each other, and we use golf to build a community that outlasts any single round.

Join Gang Green Golf Club — San Antonio

G3C SA is a San Antonio golf community built around mentorship, inclusion, and fellowship, with a membership made up largely of retired and active-duty military veterans. Members get a standing Saturday game, a shot at the club's tournament slate, and a hand in the charity, scholarship, and youth programs the chapter runs each year.

Annual membership is $125 for the first year. In the Cash App note, enter G3C Membership Payment so we can match your payment.
